If I could choose any style of bending, it would be earthbending because Toph :l
Just so you know, these are unplanned, I don't even do a storyboard. I just jump right into animating because it's fun and I'm doing it for fun! If you want to see some actual linetests from someone who actually works on the show, CHECK OUT RYU *blacksataguni [they're both animations, the first one is really long and REALLY AWESOME! check them out!]
Korra belongs to Bryan and Mike. And, once again, I was listening to Vitamin Strings' “Flashing Lights” cover during the entire time I animated this. Animated in GIMP
Actually, your Bending Art depends on much more things than on favorite character, but the two greatest factors are the season I'm which you were born and your personality.
Most benders are born in the season related to their element, though there are exceptions (like Lu Ten, who was a firebender, yet was born on spring), but you also must take the hemisphere things into account. It is interesting to note that, in three cases, the season the person was supposed to be born influences their acts. Aang, Toph and Korra were all born in the southern hemisphere, and though they are, respectively, an airbender, an earthbender, and a waterbender, they have influence of the season they would be born on in the northern hemisphere: Aang used earthbending the most during Seasons 2 and 3. Though earthbending is usually a restrained bending art,Toph has a general disregard for rules. And not only Korra's most uses element is fire, but her own explosive personality denotes a firebender.
Also, don't know if anyone here notice, since the world of Avatar uses the Chinese calendar, the year a bender is born is more important than the season. If you analyze, the most powerful of each Bending Art was born in the Chinese Year roughly related to their element. Aang was born on the Year of the Dragon, Korra was born in the Year of the Ox, Toph was born in the Year of the Monkey, and Azula was born in the year of the Snake, just to give some examples. Of cours not all characters' birth year match his or her element, because sometimes the writers forsake that to make the characters closer in age.
So, in my case, I would be an earthbender, because I am stubborn and never give up On anything I do (unless it's entirely out of my reach, of course). I was born in the Year of the Dog, and have some airbending personality behaviors due to being born in autumn (according to the Celtic and Chinese calendars). Also, if I was the Avatar, and proceeded to learn the other elements, I would have more difficulty with waterbending, since it relies on emotion, and I am emotionally detached. Really, I would rather feel physical pain than emotional one. I only break into tears when deeply hurt or frustrated, and it takes VERY MUCH to really piss me off, and I only lashed once. I am like a volcano thst when pissed only show major trremble, but never actually erupts. And the favorite character thing, mine is Zuko.
fantastic work i was wondering how many frames something like this is and if its close to 48 frames ? your timing and primary poses are great. im just getting into 2d animation and its a lot harder then 3d animation.
Not sure what program used, but check out TV Paint Animation. It's a very good art program but mostly designed around animation. I have a demo version on my Android tablet and if I wanted to really get into animation I wouldn't hesitate to spend the big bucks on TVP.
